With a history that spans hundreds of years, Whately Hall Hotel began life as a coaching Inn in the 17th Century and boasts a fine tradition of grand receptions, private celebrations and fully themed evenings. One can only guess who attended these early events, but we do know that our stunning property has entertained the likes of King James II (1687), Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels (1726) and indeed, William Shakespeare and Benjamin Franklin. Our beautiful Swifts Restaurant and Parkside Suite comfortably seat up to 120 guests with wonderful views overlooking our perfectly manicured gardens, it provides the perfect setting for your special occasion. We also have four other superbly appointed event suites, with the facilities and flexibility to accommodate your every need. Each with magnificent oak panelling, open fireplaces and iron chandeliers, to create the most charming atmosphere for you and your guests.
