Rustic Chic
Our luxury en-suite rooms combine rustic charm with funky modern twists. Many original features have been maintained and the materials used – wood, stone, clay – as well as the art decorating the walls reflect the myriad of nature that surrounds the buildings. Each bedroom has its own entrance for extra privacy. They sit around a courtyard together with the Barn, amongst herbaceous boarders and mosaic paths. We have hand made the beds to fit the highest quality mattresses so they form a giant super king sized bed for couples or two singles for friends. Our underfloor heating and walk-in showers land you in the lap of luxury.
Handmade Elegance
Three of the en-suite rooms have baths for a relaxing soak as well as a shower. The other rooms have luxurious walk in showers with pebble tiles to gentle massage your feet. Some of the bedrooms have special clay plaster with crushed sea shells in it to create a sparkling effect all over the wall and a healthy breathability to the room. Others have the original brick and lime walls in them. Reclaimed wood and original farm doors have been used along side the original timber beams to add splashes of color and authenticity to the rooms. Each bedroom has original artworks by renowned artist Oliver Barnett. Giving each room a unique interpretation of a natural scene creating a perfect harmonious colour balance with the handmade curtains and cushions. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms have under floor heating. They also have super comfortable, extra thick sprung mattresses and high quality cotton linen. The three bedrooms available in Stable Cottage are more traditional with a grand country house feel.
The bedrooms are all named after heritage grains and cereal crops to honour the history of the granary barn, although in fact animals such as horses and cows were all kept in these rooms once upon a time! All bedrooms have their own entrance around a courtyard creating a quadrangle embracing a sheltered garden with herbaceous boarders, bonsai forests, an alpine garden, paths of flint and reclaimed brick, giant tables with silver birch seating and funky garden lighting throughout.
If you want to sleep even more, the why not hire the cottages which are also attached to the courtyard and come with another sitting room/events space in the village hall. Otherwise some of your group might want to stay in a treehouse or bell tent in the glamp site.
